Lovewell is the most progressive program ever offered to train young people in the art of theatre

Miami New Times

This event showcases the creative genius of children from around the world who, over the span of three weeks, conceptualize, write, compose, choreograph, produce and finally perform their own original musical theatre production.

The Lovewell Institute for the Creative Arts is a fine organization and will be beneficial to Kansas. I wish you the best of luck...and continued success with Lovewell.

Lovewell has brought me across the waters and back again - musically and literally. It has opened my eyes to new ways of learning, teaching, and writing music. This along with the personal connections I made as a participant in Lovewell's international exchange workshop in Sweden lead me to move halfway across the world to pursue a college degree in music from the U.S., where I am currently in my senior year as an Ethnomusicology major at the University of Florida School of Music.

Lovewell didn't help me find myself, it made me who I am today.

There are no words to describe the excitement when you see a young person wake up to their own creative potential. Lovewell inspires a kind of "I can do it" wonder that I have never experienced anywhere else.

Certainly the students will feel more of a control over their own education, which is one of the end products which one should truly seek, in that then they would become life long learners. They wouldn't feel so much that they are the effect of everything that's happening to them.

Lovewell is an indescribable feeling that helps people find their own personal light. It gives kids a voice in the arts. Thank you lovewell!

Lovewell is a place where nothing matters, and your creativity can explode. Anything you want to happen is possible. It's a very optimistic and comforting atmosphere. Anyone is accepted…and amazing things happen at Lovewell, that nobody can explain unless they have experienced it themselves.

Lovewell changed my life. Truly, it did. I'm a different, more understanding and loving person- but also I feel like a more creative and expressive person than before.

Lovewell has taught me to believe that “I am now at this moment all that I need to be” and it is proof that when people set their minds and hearts on a task everything is possible!

Having been through the Lovewell process both as a student and as a staff member, I have come to the conclusion that creativity is the answer, the answer lives within the question, the question leads you to beauty, and beauty gives back eternally. Lovewell allows me to believe these things are true by showing them to me again and again. Students and staff and locations may change but--if the right question is answered and asked--beauty and creativity are the consistent results.

My favorite part of the process was writing the show. The feeling of imagining something and then having it realized into an actual piece of art is indescribable.

It is hard to describe Lovewell to people who haven’t experienced it. Usually I try to tell them about the obvious parts first; well, we write a musical from scratch, we come up with the idea and then we create everything around it and in the end we show it to friends and family. Either if they get very interested or if they say “hm well I’m not that great of a singer you know?” I tell them that, however, the most important part is the bonding with the other people. The most important thing I’ve learned (from Lovewell) is to be aware of my own creativity and how I can use it in different ways. I’ve learned that it’s important to cooperate and to make the best out of working together with people, not only your best friends.
