WHO: Entering High School- Exiting High School

WHAT: Collaborate, conceive, write, compose, choreograph, design and perform an original piece of theatre with music while working with professional artists, fellow students and in a professional space at Short North Stage!

WHEN: 07/1/2013- 07/13/2013 (with the 4th of July off.)

MORE WHEN: The workshop begins on Monday, July 1st, 2013 and runs every day 9am-5pm (weekends included) with the exception of the 4th of July. July 10th-12th, the workshop hours are extended and are from 9am-9pm with additional hours on the days of performances. The conclusion of the workshop will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2013.

MORE WHO: 25 students will join a professional staff of artists and share their collective stories from all walks of life.  In doing so, one, solid, unified piece of theatre is born.  In order to make this happen, we need creative people of all types.  This experience is about the creative process, and while the performance is an enormous part of our workshop, the focus is on the weeks of creation.

PERFORMANCES: Friday, July 12th and Saturday, July 13th, 2013 Times TBA.

LUNCHES: Students have access to the nearby restaurants and can purchase lunch if they like or they are also welcome to bring their own lunch. Lunches are not included in the price of tuition.

APPLICATION PROCESS: All applicants (including returning students) must pay a $25 application fee. Your application is not complete until the fee has been paid. If you are a new student, you must fill out the essay questions that are on the application. If you are a returning student, you do not have to complete the essay, but you must type ‘returning’ into each essay field or your application will not process correctly. Your paperwork will not be processed until your application is complete. You will hear from us, via email, within one month of submitting your application.

Please note that when you apply on-line, you must set up an account for EACH STUDENT, NOT for each family. Every individual student must register with their own account. If you have new information to enter into your account, please set up a new account.

COST: $25 application fee. $650.00 tuition. If you are a scholarship recipient or are receiving a multi-session discount, we will apply that to your final payment. You will not see the deduction when you check out.

PAYMENT: When you apply you will be able to choose from the following options: Pay in 2 monthly installments, pay in 3 monthly installments, pay in 4 monthly installments or Pay by check.  If the payment dates listed have already passed, you will be charged to get your account up to the current date. Please note if you choose the “Pay by check” option, you are responsible for sending in payment.  You will NOT be billed other than the initial acceptance letter and statement of amount due that you will receive via email. If you have other questions about payment, you might find the information you are looking for HERE.

DISCOUNTS: If a student is attending more than one of our summer workshops, they will receive one $100 discount from the final payment of the final workshop. If a family has more than one student attending one of our workshops, they will receive one $100 discount from the final payment of the final workshop.

RESIDENTIAL HOUSING: Residential housing is not available for our summer 2013 Columbus, Ohio workshop. However, if you are a returning student and have interest in participating in a home stay with another student, please contact Artistic Director, Carrie Gilchrist, at carrie@lovewell.org for more info.

CANCELLATION CLAUSE: Please note the the status of this workshop is 100{b7360ed853c079dec07d6dd2c44115071c33eba613ca2a21659a0c0037904010} dependent on enrollment. Lovewell and Short North Stage reserve the right to cancel this workshop by May 15th, 2013 if there are not enough applicants.

SCHOLARSHIPS: To the extent possible, Lovewell will offer partial scholarships to families with limited financial resources. Please only apply for scholarships if you are truly in need. Each student is eligible for one scholarship per summer. You must first apply to the workshop and be accepted before applying for a scholarship. The scholarship program works on a first come, first serve rolling basis. We highly suggest applying and securing your space in the workshop even if you intend to apply for a scholarship, as there are only 25 slots available in this workshop. Find out more information and download our 2013 scholarship application HERE.

REFUND POLICY
Cancellations made by March 31st, 2013 are fully refundable.  Cancellations made between April 1, 2013 and the date the workshop begins are refundable only if the space in the workshop can be filled by another full paying student.  Cancellations (for any reason) made after the workshop begins are nonrefundable.
