2021 Staff Inquiry

Thank you for your interest in staffing one of our summer of 2021 workshops. As you’re all aware, due to the ongoing pandemic, this will be a different Lovewell summer than in past years. Keeping staff and students safe and healthy is our biggest priority. This application will be open until Monday, March 29th, 2021 (and no late applications will be accepted.) Scroll to the bottom of this page to find the application. A few things to keep in mind before you apply:.

We’re running fewer programs this summer and thus, need fewer staff members.

This is a giant bummer, but it’s our reality. We’re doing our best to give students and staff options of how they get their Lovewell experience this summer, but as with most situations in life, it will be impossible to make everyone happy. We thank you in advance for understanding.

COVID makes staff traveling to work programs away from home tricky.

Air travel, home stays, and road trips are some of our favorite things, but for now, those things also come with a fair amount of risk. As much as possible, we’ll be hiring locally for this summer’s in-person workshops. This may not be possible in every instance but it’s our first choice for safety reasons.

Safety must stay in the forefront of all our minds.

Safety standards differ from place to place, and guidelines shift quickly. If you’re hired, your contract will clearly lay out all the precautions that we expect will be taken at each workshop site. We take it all extremely seriously, and we expect you will too.

We will be running 12 workshops in total at this time.

Below is a list of the different workshops, including the schedules. The 5 Kansas workshops are not listed below as there will not be open staffing for these workshops this year as per the requirements of our partners. Also, you will see a list of staff positions needed as well as a description of each position. Please read through this information before applying and note that in most* cases, you must be an intern on one workshop before being hired for a position. (*Professional experience taken into consideration.)

Staff positions

Please keep in mind that these are overall, brief descriptions of our staff positions. With our Lovewell workshops, it is hard to pinpoint exact descriptions because each workshop depends on the specific, unique skills of every single person involved. Maybe you are a fantastic choreographer who also happens to design and sew costumes. Wonderful! All of our staff positions are loosely defined in order to be open to whatever the artist who is filling that position brings to the collaboration. Our main goal is to hire creative, open minded, positive artists that want to joyfully collaborate and always find a way around every challenge. Every staff member will have to do a little bit of everything at some point in the process. Simply tell us what position OR positions (if there is more than one, please be clear) that you feel you could best fill.
