LAUGUAGE:
This workshop is conducted in English (as we have a cultural exchange with students from the USA joining the program), but Swedish speakers are highly encouraged to apply to help facilitate the collaboration.
Each year, our primary goal is to hire a highly skilled, creative, collaborative, solution-focused team of artists who want to joyfully work together to create a new work of musical theatre with young people.
The most effective Lovewell staff members will be able to:
Effectively and empathetically manage a group dynamic, practice patience, enthusiastically collaborate to generate ideas and solutions to challenges, be a good listener, meet deadlines, communicate clearly, show sensitivity to students and staff of all abilities and backgrounds, ask for help when needed.
Please keep in mind that the following are general descriptions of our staff positions. All our workshops will vary slightly in their needs depending on the location, the makeup of the student group, and the makeup of the staff. While each staff member will have a clearly defined role, everyone should expect to be asked to lend a hand with a variety of tasks within the process.
Finally, we always appreciate staff members with a variety of skills and interests – so, if you’re a choreographer who plays the guitar, or a designer who loves to write, great! Let us know so we can take that into account when staffing. Simply tell us what position OR positions (if there’s more than one, please be clear) are the best fit for you. All positions require a working laptop, proficiency with Google Workspace apps, and a cell phone.
For Potential Interns/ First Time Applicants:
Please note that our policy is that you must first intern on a program in order to be hired as a staff member if you do not have at least 3 years of professional experience under your belt. Some artists may be offered more than one year as an intern due to training needs as well as availability of positions.
